Academic block inauguration & Fresher's Day celebration
The opening ceremony of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, the third medical college of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Education, Perambalur, and the first-year student initiation ceremony were held on September 21, 2023, in the medical college premises. Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University Chancellor, Shri. A. Srinivasan Ayya, inaugurated the medical college campus and addressed the first-year students. The function was also attended by Mrs. Ananthalakshmi Kathiravan, Pro Chancellor of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University; Dr. Gowri, former Vice Chancellor of Madras University; Dr. Ranjan, Vice Chancellor of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University; Dr. Bhaskaran, former Dean of Chengalpattu Medical College; and Mr. Gopinath of Neeya Nana fame. Speaking on this occasion, the Hon'ble Chancellor said: I extend my warm and heartfelt greetings to all of you who are joining the family of the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Education Association as new members. This day is the start of your medical career journey. By choosing this sacred and pious field, you stand in the ranks of human beings who dedicate their lives to curing the diseases of others, allaying suffering, and making mankind healthy and are seen as human gods. You should remember some important things from this auspicious journey. Medicine is not just about science and knowledge; it is about love, compassion, and kindness. Always remember that every patient needs love, warmth, and comfort, not just medicine. Medicine is an ever-evolving field, and what you learn today may not exist tomorrow. So be a lifelong learner, learn new technologies for human social health, and thereby create many new advancements in the field of medicine. Consider that great achievements in medicine are often the result of collaborative efforts, and always develop the good habit of collaborating with colleagues, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The demands of this field can be overwhelming at times, and at the same time, you must learn to prioritize self-care and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I hope you will excel in this noble field in the future and make our college and parents proud.” He spoke.
Dr. Gowri, the former Vice chancellor of Madras University, who gave a special speech on this occasion, said, “Every subject you learn in the medical field will help to cure the disease of every patient, so every subject you learn in every class will help to improve the health of some patients. Medicine cures diseases. But the doctor heals the patient.Thiruvalluvar is the best doctor in the world, and the 1330 Kurals in it are healing medicines.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ranjan said, “You have reached a very important height in your life. He said that in the next four and a half years at this college, you should learn education from the most talented professors and develop academic skills.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhaskaran, former Dean of Chengalpattu Medical College, said, "You who have joined this prestigious college should not be distracted by any other things except medical studies. And we studied hard and got high in life. Similarly, he said that you should study hard, enjoy your studies without any loss to your parents, and succeed in life.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University Pro-Chancellor Ms. Anantalakshmi Katiravan said that the only field where all human beings worship like God is the medical field. I wish you great achievements in this field. Finally, Neeya Nana Mr. Gopinath, who delivered the keynote speech, said, “It is the health of every individual that can build a strong society. A country with a strong society can be the best superpower. Therefore, individual health is essential for our country to become a superpower. The advice and treatment methods of young doctors like you are very necessary for improving individual human health. You should take the medical language you have learned and tell it to your patients in simple language to cure the disease. And he said that there is a huge demand for cardiology doctors in India, so you should become a trained doctor in this field.
Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institution Trustee Member Mr. Rajaboopathi, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institution Chief Financial Officer Mr. Rajasekhar, Managing Director of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital Nivani Katiravan, attended the event. Earlier in the program, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital Dean Dr. Viswanathan gave the welcome address. In closing, Medical Superintendent Dr. Suresh Kumar gave the vote of thanks. 150 first year students took the Hippocratic Oath in this program. More than 1000 people, including principals and professors belonging to Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Education Group, participated.
